Overview
This course develops a strong understanding of the fundamental principles of computer security and introduces the tools and mechanisms used to protect software and computing systems. The course is intended for upper-level undergraduate students and covers cryptographic foundations and tools, authentication, access control, database security, operating-system security, software security and malware, Internet security protocols and standards, intrusion detection and prevention, privacy, identity management, security management and risk assessment, and legal and ethical aspects of cybersecurity.
